Jack the cat found alive in Kennedy airport after 2 monthsJack was due to fly with his owner to San Francisco in August, but he disappeared from his travel container before the flight took off.
Since being missing, the cat developed fatty liver disease, a treatable condition that can develop when a cat is not getting enough food. Jack has lost so much weight that he likely comes in below the 15-pound limit and would be allowed to fly this time with his owner in the passenger cabin.

Photo of the day: Airport reborn as public parkChildren ride bicycles on an old airport runway at former Tempelhof airport in Berlin on Sept. 11. Built in the early 1920s in south central Berlin, the aging and obsolete airport was closed in 2008. In an effort to introduce more green space into the city, the space was reopened in May 2010 as a public park called Tempelhofer Freiheit. Because of the large expanses of runway and the ample amount of green space, the park has become a popular venue for recreational activities like biking and skating.
